The Annotation tool converts dynamic label display to permanent text features. This tool is only available if there is a labeling definition on the selected feature. The annotation tool is selected from the feature's right-click menu and opens the following dialog.

Labels on features are dynamic and change as the properties of the feature are changed or updated. Saving labels as annotation requires you to choose the destination model in which to save the test. The annotation text will be saved at the same size and symbology as defined in the labeling dialog. Because the annotation may differ based on scale, it is necessary to define the scale desired for the output. The default scale is the current scale of the active view.

The annotation text can be attached to the current map definition in the same manner as other features.
